Data Transfer Allowance

Our Personal Plan for $9.90 per month allows for 1000MB of data transfer per month, you can roughly estimate how much transfer will be required by calculating the number of visitors expected and the size of the web pages.

As an example if you have a 5 page website with each page averaging 50Kb and every visitor browses to all 5 pages, we can estimate how many visitors it will take before your data transfer is exceeded.

1MB = 1024Kb
Data Transfer = 1000MB = 1024000Kb
Page Weight = 50Kb x 5 = 250Kb
Visitors = Data Transfer divided by Page Weight
Visitors = 1024000 divided by 250 = 4096

Using these calculations we can estimate that 4096 visitors per month will be within the data transfer allowance, if using the Personal Plan.

Video, MP3 and multimedia files make it harder to calculate an estimate. You need to know the size of the files and approximately how many visitors you expect.

If your monthly allowance is going to exceed the limit we will email you with the option to upgrade your account.

If you are starting your first site and unsure which plan to choose, select the personal plan and you have the option to upgrade at any time.

Many hosts claim they provide unlimited data transfer, this is not only impossible its false advertising.

Disk Space Allowance

Most sites do not exceed 10MB of disk space, the allowance also takes into account your emails stored and databases. The personal plan allows for 100MB of space which is substantial for most users.

A site less than 250 pages only need to consider the personal plan, again if multimedia files are being used the size of the files will needed to be taken into account
